Mario Muscat

Mario has been in the flag design and tailoring industry since 1992 when, back then, he was still doing what he liked most on a part-time basis. Born in Tarxien he was always fond of his parish feast and it was eventually this devotion that inspired him to start contributing to the festives by making flags. His fame spread quickly throughout his home town as being a talented flag painter and tailor and quickly his name was attributed to flags. It was only a matter of short time before he was known all over the island as being one of the best flag makers, all of this acquired at the young age of 30. The interest in this subject eventually made him take the decision in 2003 to work on a full-time basis in this sector. This is quite unheard of on the island of Malta however Mario wanted to dedicate his time solely to flag making, a decision which is litterary leaving his mark on the island. His portfolio includes the making of the flag of 'Kazin Banda San Anard' - a band club in Hal Kirkop, "Kazin Banda San Guzepp" of Hamrun and "Kazin Banda Maria Annunzjata" of Tarxien, the latter being one of his personal favourites.
