Why Aren’t You Using a Drinking Water Filter System?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

This is going to sound crazy but I recently learned that using a drinking water filter system is the smartest, cheapest and most convenient step you can take to guarantee the health of you and your family.

All of my life water has been my beverage of choice. And believe me, I’ve had to endure a lot of ridicule and outright intolerance from people who thought I chose water just to be difficult. (It drove my mother-in-law CRAZY!)

I can’t help it. I love the taste of water. But it wasn’t until recently that using a drinking water filter system became important to me. Although I’m still motivated by my taste buds, the multitude of health benefits AND dangers of drinking water have become serious considerations.

Drinking water didn’t always carry the risk that it does now. By nature, water has its own water filter system that, ideally, is supposed to supply us with all the purity, nutrients and minerals that are necessary to maintain healthy human life. Unfortunately, with the development of industrialized societies, man-made chemical pollutants have become a scourge on our water, as well as, our food and air.

Fortunately, over the last couple of decades, we’ve become more environmentally savvy. This awareness includes the realization that our local municipal water systems, which we have relied upon to provide us with safe, potable water, are in potentially serious “hot water.” (Pardon the pun.)

Our local city water systems have found that adding chlorine and other chemicals does an adequate job as a water filter system. These chemicals also don’t cost much and they’re easy to get. But using chlorine has proven to be “over-kill” because it strips out the GOOD along with the bad. As a result, Vitamin E and other important fatty acids become victim to chlorine’s purifying properties.

And speaking of stripped…you’re probably familiar with that dry skin feeling after showering or bathing. Chlorine in your water strips your body’s natural oils, which are there to make you comfortable in your own skin and protect you from premature aging.

Red flags should also go up when I tell you that chlorine reacts in a very negative way when it comes in contact with your home plumbing system. Chlorine causes the heavy metals, such as lead and copper that are in most (98% according to the EPA) household pipes, to leach into the water.

So now that you know all this, what is the next step? Well, you could continue to do research into the current state of your municipal water filter system…or you could turn your research toward finding a personal drinking water filter solution.

In this case, you would put on your “good consumer” hat and look into finding the best drinking water filter system for you and your family. Just keep in mind that you’re looking for a water filter system that removes chlorine, unpleasant taste and odors, heavy metals like lead, VOCs (volatile organic chemicals), and cryptosporidium, giardia.

Like any other product, you will find that the quality of these water filter systems ranges from poor, to middling, to excellent.

For your convenience and personal preference, you will find counter top drinking water filter systems or under the counter water filter systems. These are great because of the portable nature of the appliance. If you decide to move, the system goes with you.

And there are several additional bonuses to a finding good drinking water filter system. They are inexpensive, convenient to install and easy maintain. And the more reputable dealers are great with providing technical support.

Of course, my favorite thing about a drinking water filter system is that it provides me with water that tastes GREAT!

So I ask you again, “Why aren’t you using a drinking water filter system?”

Adsense, Business, Marketing, Internet, Optimize, Adsense Earnings, Earnings

Once you have decided to take your marketing campaign to Google’s AdSense pay per click program, you agree to a number of rules including:

• No hidden pages. You must have a clear hierarchy and each page needs at least one link to get there.

• No broken links. If you link outside of your site, make sure you check your links often. No more than 100 links per page.

• When designing your site, create one that is helpful to a user; don’t design a page for search engines. Make sure you clearly define what your site is about.

• Your TITLE and ALT tags should be precise and descriptive.

• You need a site map to help users find what they are looking for if your menu doesn’t.

• No hidden text.

• No redirection of your site

Even if you follow all these design rules, you may still be at risk of losing your AdSense advertiser account or have temporarily been fined a penalty in the form of your ads being removed from rotation on other sites. The penalty may go away with time, but it’s best to double and triple check your site then file a re-inclusion request (instructions below.) Include in your request which changes you’ve made and that it won’t happen again.

Your competitors might have a plan that could get you banned. It’s called “click bombing” and it’s against Google’s policy.

Click bombing happens when someone, be it a competitor or not, repeatedly clicks the pay per click ad for a business in order to raise flags with Google. Google rates their ads based on relevance, so the more an ad is clicked, the more relevant it becomes, and the higher up the list it moves. This has made it very easy for business owners to move themselves up the relevance list, so Google countered this practice by red flagging any business that has a significant spike in AdSense hits. If the hits all trace back to the same IP address or addresses, the advertiser is removed for “invalid clicks”.

Finding out about this strength in Google’s search engine, sneaky competitors have started to exploit it by purposely clicking the competitions ad again and again, in order to ban the ad.

If this has happened to you, or if you’ve been banned for violation of any of the design or technological terms of your contract, you can sometimes have it overturned by contacting customer support.

It is imperative, though, that you run reports frequently and store the data outside of your Google account. This will help prove to Google that a click bombing happened should you be removed. You are not guaranteed a reversal, however. In fact, most pleas to Google to have a banned account go unheard.

If you don’t get a positive response from Google, you may want to check out some of the other pay per click programs, like Yahoo! Publisher Network or the many affiliate programs online.
